Congratulations Mary Nadeau! – OnlineColleges.org 2012 Scholarship Winner

Online Colleges.org in conjunction with Education Aid, Inc. is thrilled to announce the winner of the first-ever Online Colleges.org Support A Student Scholarship For Single Parents.
The scholarship aims to help economically disadvantaged students who are at risk of dropping out due to a lack of financial support. This year’s winner is a deserving candidate. Learn more about Mary below.
What school are you currently attending?
I’m a full-time student at Remington College. I’m working towards my associate’s degree in Criminal Law by taking classes online.
What are your plans after graduation?
I’m debating right now. After I complete my associate’s degree, I may enroll in a bachelor’s program or start my career in the criminal justice field. I have a passion for justice.
Now that you’ve won the scholarship, how will it change your life?
As a mother of two, it will change my life in a lot of ways. I have thought about dropping out of school due to financial stress, and not owning a computer. In the past, I’ve had to go to the library to do my schoolwork, which meant hiring a babysitter and taking time away from my children. Ten-thousand dollars to me means millions of dollars. I’ll be able to finish school and get a good paying job to give my boys the things they need.
