The state awarded more than 20,000 bachelor’s degrees in the 2012-2013 academic year. While education costs are higher in Connecticut, the state has been strongly pushing financial aid efforts to make learning a more affordable and attainable experience for students. In the 2013-2014 academic year, Connecticut awarded roughly $40 million in need-based and non-need grants. Additionally, the state also set aside $106.903 million in tuition waivers, making online education a lot more affordable for students on tight budgets and wishing to get better work opportunities.
