Online Education in Indiana

Students wishing to pursue an online education in Indiana have many options to choose from, when it comes to schools and programs. The state is home to a total of 85 institutions that award college degrees. Of the 85, 16 are public schools, 40 are nonprofit colleges, and 29 are for-profit institutions. In the 2012-2013 academic year, Indiana awarded well over 45,000 bachelor’s degrees.

As for tuition, College Board indicates that the average in-state tuition and fees came out to $9,120, while the out-of-state average was $27,590 for public four-year colleges in the 2015-2016 academic year. To help more students achieve their academic goals, Indiana has awarded over $275 million in grants during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Students in Indiana should consider looking into available scholarships and grants that they qualify for to help pay off their online degree. With college expenses being so high, every little bit counts! Applying can be as simple as providing a strong GPA, or require a little more work, like writing a short essay on a given topic.
