Oregon does offer tuition waivers, with $91 million awarded in 2013-2014. On top of tuition waivers, the state gave out $55.3 million in need-based grants. The Oregon Community College Distance Learning Association (OCCDLA) has the prime directive of assisting students to take courses online. Students who are enrolled at one of the participating community colleges can take courses at one of the other participating community colleges at lowered rates. This opens up a vast amount of courses for students to enroll in. This association also helps educators to share information and raise standards of the online programs offered at OCCDLA colleges.

Oregon is also a part of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). This commission allows students to take out-of-state courses at reduced rates, as long as the other college is a part of the commission as well.
